Best RebelChurch Ever?

Were you at RebelChurch on Sunday night? How insanely crazy was that?! Everything, from the volunteers to the decor to the worship experience to the preaching was off… the… charts. Many agree it was the best RebelChurch ever and I would have to second that opinion. Also, leading the service next to my good friend Levi Lusko didn’t hurt either. I know Levi from back in the days of Southern California. We did some cool ministry together and now, four years later, I’m leading and he’s preaching. It was good times for sure.

The time of worship was electric. My guitar player, Kenny, created an intro video to kick off the night. He did an amazing job, everyone loved it. We tried some new material as well as revamping some old stuff (such as the new intro beat for Search My Heart). I also revamped one of my originals, Alive! It was the second song in the set list. Here’s the set we played…

Nothing Is Impossible (B)
Alive! (Bb)
Search My Heart (B)
Awakening (E)
The Lost Are Found (B)
Freedom Is Here (A)
Go (B)

At the end of Levi’s message, he gave an opportunity for people to stand to their feet in surrender to God. Tons stood to their feet and gave their lives to Christ. Epic moment. And then, right when you thought it was all said and done, the after party began.

Out back, about five Miami food trucks were parked outside ready to deliver some serious grub. There was also a Dj laying down some beats, and even though it was raining and thundering, that didn’t seem to dampen anyones spirit. In fact, I think the crazy lightning flashing through the sky made the whole experience even cooler. Chrissy and I even got in on the action and picked up a strawberry funnel cake. Delicious!

I want to give a huge shout out to all the people, including my band, who passionately made this event happen. There are some amazing, incredibly gifted, committed and passionate people on the rebel team, and THEY are what made the event happen. The people that spent hours transforming the venue. The people that put out chairs for attendees to hear the Gospel preached. The people that strove for excellence in every area of the event. You worked so hard and it showed. Thanks!

But of course, the biggest shout out goes to the God of the universe who showed up and met people where they were, broke down strongholds, ripped apart chains, rescued the deeply despaired and transformed lives. Thank you Jesus!
