Not Just a Name On a Roster

We’re currently in a season of trying to grow our worship team so that we can accomplish what we want to at our four campuses and nine services a week. But I’ve realized something important in this process:

You have to be a good steward of what you currently have in order to be given more. If you’re not taking care of the people you do have, why would or why should you receive more? This is something I’m working on.

Also, in order to make withdrawals from people, you have to make deposits. Withdrawals are things like “Hey I know you’re busy, but can you play that extra service? We really need someone.” Deposits are things like “Hey, let’s meet for coffee” or “How did that job interview go?” or “Hey, I’ve been praying for your mom, how is she doing?”

If you’re looking for new people, don’t forget to pastor the people you still have. And remember that they’re people first, not just a name on a roster.
